New libraries, tools and frameworks ship every week, and nobody can keep up. RoastMyStack checks the ones you already use.
Paste a package.json or a public GitHub repo, no signup. Every dependency gets a verdict: Rising, Stable, Fading or At risk, with the reason in plain words, like “No release in 2 years; weekly downloads down 34% over 12 weeks.” Then you get a health score, a short roast of your stack, and a share card for X.
What’s in it:
- A 3D radar of your stack, one plate per verdict.
- Verdicts from rules, not AI. They come from npm downloads, release history, deprecations, archived repos and security advisories. The AI writes the roast and suggests alternatives for fading packages, but it never decides a verdict or makes up a number.
- A leaderboard of public GitHub repos, ranked against repos of a similar size, so a mid-size project competes with mid-size projects, not with React.
- Follow a repo. Get an email when a verdict in your stack changes, and only then.
It started as a much bigger tech radar app, became a smaller tool called Stack Check, and turned into RoastMyStack once I noticed nobody shares a health score but everybody shares a roast.
